The Colonial Consignment and Distribution Company cabled to-day : Inc frozen moat market is weak, and there is a. fall of an eighth of a penny per lb for North Island mutton and first quality lamb. Quotations are: Canteroury mutton 4|d; Napier, Wellington and North Island 3|d; lamb, first quality 4UI, second quality 33d; beef, hindquarters 3jd, forequarters 2|d.”

"WELLINGTON, Nov. 25. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated London, November 24th, states: The wool sales have commenced. The offerings are chiefly Australian. Merinos are in very brisk demand, The New Zealand wools catalogued Comprise 15,500 bales, mostly slipes. Trade is good, and manufacturers require supplies. Future prosnects are favorable to good market values, fully equal. to those of last sales. Quotations of New Zealand wools cabled bv tho Commissioner at the close of the last London sales on October 2nd were: Super merinos Is to Is 3Jd, medium merinos llAd to Is Id, inferior merinos 9d to lid. fine crossbreds Is 2d to Is 4£d. medium crossbreds lid to Is 3d, and coarse crossbreds 9d to Is 3d. TIMARU AVOOL SALES. TIMARTJ, Nov. 25. The following was the range of prices at the wool sales yesterday:—Super half bred. to 142 d; medium halfbred. 10?,d to 12R1; super three-quar-ter-bred and crossbreds, lOd to 10}<]; medium throe-nuarterhrod and crossbreds Bi?d to lOd: super merino combing, 10Ad to 103 d ; best pieces. 7?ld to 83d ; medium, s)d to 7d; locks, 3d to 4 id. LONDON AVOO LSALES. United Press Association —Copyrioiit. LONDON, Nov. 24. The opening of the wool sales was brisk. There were 6959 bales offered, a poor selection, including 1602 bales 'from New Zealand. There was a large attendance of buyers, and strong' general competition. Good merino was firm and TLlidlcL nged in. prices, but faulties declined. Fine crossbreds are being well maintained, prices being occasionally slightly in the seller’s favor. At the wool sales there is spirited competition at full opening rates. TALLOW SALES. At the tallow sales, Auckland’s consignment of 574 casks was offered, 181 being sold. The price is unchanged. HOME MARKETS. (Received November 20, 10 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 25. Copper: Spot £SB 17s 6d, three months £6O. Tin is weak owing to easier cable advices from the East and the impending Dutch sales. ' Spot £l4O 7s 6d, three months £142 10s.
