Aliller’s departure, read the following address on behalf of the officers connected with the Department :

“As you are about to leave us, the members of the veterinary, stock, meat and clerical divisions feel that they could not allow you to depart without showing in a tangible wav the appreciation and esteem in which you haye been held by your fellow officers in Gisborne. In. your official capacity we have always found you courteous and obliging in every way, and your advice lias always been given freely, and has been very much appreciated b.v the members of the staff. Although we regret very much losing yon. still the fact that you are going to take up tile responsible duties of District Agent, at Dunedin, which we know»you will carry out with credit to yourself and the Department you represent, helps to soften the parting with your old friends. As a slight token of our esteem, we beg you to accept the accompanying gnt, and hope you will treasure it not for its intrinsic value, hut as an evidence of our goodwill towards yon. 'Wishing you and youns health and prosperity in your new sphere of office.” In making the presentation of a travelling bag, Air. Sullivan read a letter signed by members of the Department wishing Air. Aliller every success. Air. Aliller thanked the members ior their kindness m remembering him. and said that he especially appreciated the fact that many of the officers joining in the presentation had no direct connection with him in official relations, but were simply brother officers of the Department. Tn concluding his remarks; Air. Aliller assured them he was always anxious to help, and if in the future he could do anything for them it- would give him great pleasure.
