Mr Alexander Ure, Solicitor-General ‘for Ireland, speaking at; Sleaford, said ■.that if the British people tolerated •control of the finances passing to an unrepresentative Chamber they would .lose their coloiiies, who would only •cling to the Mother Country as long •as they respected-her. Lord Milner, speaking at a Unionist meeting in Glasgow, said that if the Lords believed the Bill to he bad, it was their duty to prevent it, whatever the consequences.
