PATHE PICTURES
A large -attendance appeared to* greatly enjoy the good things providedin' the picture line at- His Majesty’s Theatre last evening. A picture snch' ~;| as “Satan’s Smithy” is seldom witnes- ' sod. Its pantomimic possibilities are || astounding; and one marvels at being , whirled from scenes of domestic obscurity to Gothic architecture, pastoral scenes, then a demon’s haunt o? flaming fire, the visit of a good fairy, a t waft of a magic wand, and a glorious transformation scene is enacted,' and' a veritable paradise is the climax to. a beautifully-colored and artistically- jjf produced picture. “The King and ' Queen at Ascot” proved a replica of a passing event of topical interest. A. . • magnificent view of the race of the day proved highly diverting. “The Infant ■; Terrible” is a laughable comic, illus-: ,)§ trating the sufferings of a devoted lover at the hands of a winsoine but mischievous brother of his fiancee who{ gjj ties a rope across the rope and brings y him t-o the floor, saws his walking stick in half, and fillls his hat with water..;;-.' Pathos, humor, and tragedy ar© artistically blended -throughout the .pro-, gramme; winch will be presented for - th© last time -this evening, as a com- . j plete change will take place to-morrow , A ■ (Wednesday). .
