BEAUTIFUL CLIPPERS.

TRUE TO THE SAILER

~ * • > An interesting incident has come- to light in connection with the recent departure from London for Sydney of the'peean training ship Port Jaclt-r son (says the Sydney /‘Daily Telegraph”). Among those who left London in her was Mr Charles- Henry Streeton, of Sydney, with his wife. Mr: Streeton, who is 80 years -of ajge, has spent half a century in Australia, emigrating thither in a sailing ship. Ho is now completing a third' Sailing-ship trip round the world, preferring this form of voyaging to any other. The best of niodern liners—there are many fine, boats now running between this country and Australia —has no attractions for him. Mr Streeton frankly admits that he travels by sailing ship because he finds it restful and recuperating. “When I feel run down,” lie says, “I take a sailing-ship voyage—a Devitt and Moore ship for preference —and when I reach my destination I am sure to find mysoif thoroughly refreshed. This is my third sailing-ship trip, out and home, and I attribute my •longevity to these voyages. I shall never' go by steamer so long as there are sailing vessels running, I need hardly-say that I greatly deplore the gradual passing of these beautihu clippers.” , ,■ ■
