The Amokura arrived this morning after having visited the ICermadec and other islands for the purpose of searching for castaways or and replenishing depots. No trace of the Clan McPherson or other' vessels was found.
CUSTOMS DUTIES
The Cutoms duties collected in Auckland during November totalled £44,566, a decrease of £2724 compared with November of last year. The primage duty contributed £4ll 16s Bd, and the surtax. £315 8s lOd in addition. Exports slidw a general increase—Butter £88,564 against £65,316, flax £6058 against £1883.’ frozen meat £4BOI against £432, hides and wool £13,002 against £9930.

At a meeting of employers, the Shops and Offices Act Amendment Bill was thoroughly f discussed, and a resolution was passed protesting strongly against legislation being promoted by tne Government which will an any ivay’ override or nullify the Arbitration Act awards. •
