Crr- Eagletcm had .given notice fe> move the foilo.wing motion at tlie meeting of the lißarbiigli Council last night: “That Cliinbse - be- excluded from .the municipal ewiVnining bath, but may bathe in a hot; plunge, bath, the came to he .reserved for their' use, provided they purchase- .sufficient tickets to reimburse the Council for such privilege.” The municipal solicitors advised that in their opinion any by-law aimed at .the ■exclusion from the baths of some particular class of. the public, say Maoris or Chinamen, because of their'nationality, would bo- ultra vires. Cr. Eagleton’s motion was accordingly ruled out of order.
