ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A MAORI'S DEATH. Notification was received by the District Coroner (Mr. W. A. Barton, S.M.) yesterday that a Native named Maru Kahukahu, who had been employed at Mr. Bruce's station, Kanakanaia, was taken ill on Wednesday morning, and was spitting blood badly. The Native was being brought in to the Gisborne Hospital, but at Te Karaka became too ill to be brought fur- t tlier, and expired at 6 o'clock. Con- p stable Doyle, who was instructed to*' make further inquiries, ascertained that the Native was suffering from pneumonia, and death was due to natural causes. In view of this fact, Mr. Barton did not consider it necessary to hold an inquest. KILLED BY A DRAY. [Pen Pp.ess Association*.! NELSON. Dec. 2. A young married man named Tlios. Frost was killed, on the Wakapuaka road this afternoon. He was thrown from a dray and run over, his back being broken and internal injuries being; inflicted.
