IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.
A number of important announcements in connection with the Art, Luno and Industrial Exhibition, to be opened on Wednesday in the Garrison Hall, ... appear in the advertising columns of thi sissue of the “Times.’ As the committee lias taken over the hall, industrial exhibitors may now nave access to the Garrison nail at any timo .. for arranging their displays. The committee wall be ready to-re-ceive art and curio exhibits any timo . ofter noon to-morrow. In order that tho work of preparation may bo facilitated, those exhibiting art and curios are kindly requested to bring them to the hall as early as possible after th© , above time. If any are unable to send M tlieir exhibits on loan, they-are requestod to telephone Exhibition No. 460, when such will be sent for. Ladies’ fancy work will be received on Wednes- -j dav morning, from 9 a.m. until Noon, both in the competitive and exhibition ■ musical competitions, which a grand piano has been kindly ~ lent bv Messrs Chnsp and Son, ore to bo as follows: Wednesday night piano solos for seniors and mixed quartettes, Thursday-afternoon, piano solos for jun- . t iors; Thursday night, brass instrument solo and male quartettes; Friday in&h * choir contest and rendering oL test, .J piece uy massed choirs. The judges decisions in the various sections. will be announced the evening following the competitions in each class. _ v.||§ The art union will bo drawn on- Saturday next. The first prize is a able carved sideboard, and there are> ; numerous'other prizes. Tickets, one i shilling each, are obtainable from mem—bers of tho committee.
