In the senior grade, wins were secured by Eden. Grafton and University. The s cores were —Eden v. North Shore: Eden first innings 134, second innings 214 for 3 wickets (R. W. Gordon 107, Brook-Smith 50 not cut).; North Shore first innings 118 (Spence 53 not out). Granger took five wickets for 47 runs, and Rolf 5 for 35. Parnell v. University: Parnell first innings 195 second innings 51 for" 5 wickets. T. Taylor took four wickets for 19 runs. University first innings 296 for 9 wickets, innings declared closed (Wallace 70, Graham 02, and F. Taylor 45). Grafton v. In connection . with the Wellington Cricket Association’s' refusal to join m with those Associations who had guaranteed for matches with the Australian team, the resolution of the special meeting of the Cricket Council was considered by the committee, and alter discussion it was unanimously resolved that the honorary secretary should write and ascertain from the various Associations who have consented to provide guarantees for matches with the Australian team, whether or not they would be prepared to give the guarantees offered by them, if the pooling svstem is abandoned, that is to say; that each Association to whom a match is granted, must pay its guarantee for that match, and the expenses of the match appropriating to its own use the whole'profit of the match. The Associations concerned are asked to forward ,a definite reply by December 6. DUNEDIN MATCHES. DUNEDIN. Dec. 5 Splendid weather prevailed yesterday for the cricket matches. Grange met Carisbrook B. and were disposed of for 130 (Henderson 40, Wright SO). Carisbrook made' 139 for 5 wicsots (Siedeberg 80, Austin 35 not out). Albion made 102 against Carisbrook A (McFarlane 28), .and 56 for no wickets (McFarlane 39 not out); while Carisbrook were disposed of for 104 (Hopkins 32). Dunedin compiled 145 against Opolio (Wilson 35, Mackersey 32). Callaway, the ex-Canterbury representative, took 7 wickets for 57. Opolio have made 33 for 5 wickets. Torrance secured two wickets for 3 runs.

Singles were scored by the players on the first two heads, and on reaching the sth head they were 4 all. At the 9th head Nasmith was one in the lead, 7 — 6, and the positions, were still the same on the 12th head, 10 —9. The game continued even, and on the 16th head Benzie was but two down, 12 to 14.
