SOUTH ISLAND BATTALIONS
Mr Forrester, district secretary for Invercargill, has reported to headquarters the enrolment of 150 boys anct eight scaitmasters. In Waimate eleven well-known residents, including the Mayor, have offered help. Timaru lias now a full battalion, thanks to the energy of Mr Williams, chief scoutmaster. Mr Palmer has been appointed district commander, and Mr L, D. Bailey district secretary. The West Coast lias come to the front, Westport and Millerton having made a good start under Messrs E. B. B. Boswell and G. Lawn. The good work done >by the scouts at the Jubilee celebrations in Blenheim has been highly prais.ed.
