WOODCHOPPINC CONTESTS.
CARNIVAL AT TINIROTO
The Tiniroto woodchopping) carnival was held at Tiniroto on Friday. The weather, which had for a few days prior to the meeting been wet, fortunately cleared up well, and the proceedings were enjoyed by a large gathering of people. At the last moment- it was found necessary to delete several of the items from the programme as the supply of logs was limited, owing to the waggon laden with them being unable to cross the flooded river. Mr. J. •S. Cooper, the secretary, had the arrangements well in hand, and-the success of the gathering was in no small measure- attributable to his efforts.
