SALE of a SHEEP STATION
[Peii Puksh Association.! AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. A well-known property at the Bay of Islands, the Iverikeri estate, belonging to Mr. T C. Williams, has just been sold te Mr. Harold Bull, who not long ago disposed of his run at V unigaro. The sale includes the stock now at the estate, 7000 sheep, 250 'head, of cattle, and 50 horses. The price was between £20,000 and £25,000.
A DEFAULTING MESSENGER.
HAMILTON, Dec. 6. Before Mr. Loughnan, S.M., a youth aged 15 years, employed as a telegraph messenger and who also as part of his duties cleared letter pillar receivers, pleaded guilty to stealing a £2 note from a postal packet, also opening a postal packet, contrary to regulations, and stealing two small sums of money handed in for transmission of telegrams. Accused was committed to the Woreroa industrial farm until he has reached 21 years of age. A CHINAMAN FINED. NAPIER, Dec.. 6. A Chinaman named" Lee Fun, alias Lee Fu, was to-day fined £3O and costs, in default three months’ imprisonment, for having in his possession opium in ft form suitable for smoking. A CHAMPION RIFLE SHOT. WANGANUI, Dec. 5. Two hundred and ten cadets and 2(5 teams, representing 26 schools throughout the Domnion, fired for the champion cadet belt, champion belt shield, and inedals presented by the Wanganui National Defence League for annual competition, Cadet Morgan, Onehunga, made the possible (50), tiring two extra shots (each a bulls-eye), making twelve consecutive- bull’s-eyes, anil becoming the champion cadet shot of New Zealand. Spurdle (Wanganui), Wooding (Geraldine), MacDonald (Ashburton), Soutag (Dunedin),), 1-ountain (Port Chalmbers), Balk (Woodville), 354, were first for the teams shield ; Geraldine 346, Onehunga 240. The belt winner was a member of' the same company as Sergt. Friar, who last year shot so brilliantly at Home for Lord Roberts’ trophy. .. . NEW LIGHTING SCHEME. . WELLINGTON, Dec. 6. .
