A PORTER SERIOUSLY INJURED.
[Pm Prkss Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. C. A serious railway accident happened at> Methven this morning just before the morning train left Christchurch. A railway porter named Grant Sturgess, whilst engaged in shunting operations. got jammed between two trucks. It seems there were two loaded wag"one kicked on to one of the sidings bv the engine, and owing to the strong north-west wind blowing at the tune, tho waggons were going beyond their required distance.
