Dr. Chappie, the P°P ular , tonian, returned to London at the pnd of October, from a fortnight shooting with a shooting party m the Highlands of Scotland. In the course of Scottish visit he delivered an address at Forgue, the centre of a. p r °spm'OUQ farming district in the North of Scotland. The hall was crowded to overflowing, and young farmers cycled from their homes eight and 12 miles distant. Mr. Thomasi Hyde, of Napier, (says the London correspondent of the New Zealand writing on October 29) leaves on Monday for Pans, en route to joih the s.s. Otway at Marseilles Mr. Hyde 'has been absent from New Zealand since February. He has spent much time in England- inquiring into agricultural matters! here;
