LORD ROBERTS ON AERONAUTICS.

BRITAIN MUST BE UP AND DOING. United Press Association —Coitrigiit. LONDON, Dec. 9. Lord Roberts, speaking at the United Service Institution, stated that Britain cannot afford to he behindhand in regard to airships and aeroplanes, which he firmly believes may be great featurcs of the next war. “We must,” he said, “make our own machines, and train our own aeronauts. Englishmen are brave and confident because they know nothing of what is going on. They are content to remain in- apathy because they will not believe anything can happen to them. The valor of ignorance pervades the whole country.”
