RAILWAY WORKSHOPS DESTROYED.

The Midland Junction railway workshops, covering a large area; and their contents, including 24 corridor cars, lliave been destroyed by fire. The damage is between £40,000 and £50,000. The cause is unknown, but is supposed to he '.spontaneous combustion. The Commissioners decided a week' ago, owing to the high rates charged, not to renew their fire insurances, and the whole loss falls'upon the Department.
