CAPT. SCOTT’S EXPEDITION

Captain Scott has left the Admiralty, and is devoting his whole time to the Antarctic expedition preparations, which are, progressing. Mr C. R. Hears, the well-known traveller, is starting for Siberia to secure dogs-and ponies, which will be “shipped direct To New Zealand, where Mr Mears joins the Terra Nova.
If the New Zealand Government is willing, Dr James Mackintosh Bell, Director of Geological Survey in New Zealand, will accompany Captain Scott, and Professor David (who accompanied Lieutenant Shackleton s expedition) has been requested to select a second geologist in Australia. The landing parties number 30.
