SYDNEY", Dec. 14.
Tho Gas Employes’ Union decided to work the coal lying at the company’s wharves. This -assures the gas supply till Christmas.
A CLERGYMAN’S EXCELLENT PROPOSAL.
(Received December 14, 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 14.
The Dean of NeAvcastle has Avired to the northern colliery proprietors and the miners suggesting that in view of the approach of Christmas they should make a “Truce of God” for a specific time. He proposes that the men should return to work, with certain concessions, and that in the meantime the Avhole matter should he considered by the Board of Arbitration.
REPORTED INTRODUCTION OF FREE LABOR.

It is reported that three oversea vessels have made .preparations for loading with free labor, to-morrow.
