The New Zealand Cricket Council met to consider financing an Australian team, and to consider the replies of the Associations as to whether they were prepared to give guarantees, it the pooling system were abandoned, in favor of each association paying the expenses of their match and appropriating any profits. Auckland replied strongly against the pooling system, while Otago North and Taranaki approved of it. Canterbury, Bu er, add Nelson declined to give a guarantee unless pooling were adhered to. Marlborough stated that if it guarantee the understanding would be that it retained all'the profits. Rangitilsei preferred pooling, but would give 3 guarantee, in any case. Wanganui agreed to pay a guarantee and take th© profits. The secretary reported that no reply had been received to his cable sent to the Board of Control. The Marylebone Committee approve of the alteration of law 54 to allow a side in a three- day’s match to declare an innings closed at any time on the second day. The alteration will be submitted to- a general meeting.
