CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS. Post Office.—Saturdays, the 22nd December and Ist January (Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) will be observed as close holidays. On Monday, the 27th inst (for Boxing Day) the office will be open in all branches, except money order and savings bank, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Receivers and posting . boxes: will be cleared on the evenings of "Fridays, the 24th and 31st inst. Mails usually despatched on Saturdays will be closed on the Friday nights, the 24th and 31st inst., at 7.30 p.m. On the 27th inst. the usual despatch of mails, up to 8 a.m. will be made. Receivers and posting boxes cleared'accordingly. A (delivery will be made' by' letter afternoons of the 24th and 3lst inst. _ On the 27th inst. one complete delivery v letter carriers will be made, leaving tlie office at 7.30 a.m. On Friday evenings the 24th and 31st, inst., a delivery of town letters will be made between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. over the counter, and at parcels delivery wicket. Telegraph Office. —The following hours will be observed on Saturday (Christmas Day): 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. On Monday (for Boxing Day) and Saturday (New Year’s Day), 9. a.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to midnight. • Telephone Exchange. —Hours as usual —viz., 7 a.m. to II p.m.
