r The annual meeting of the Te Karaka Racing Club is to be held on hew Year’s Ray. Special trains will be run £ to the course, arriving at noon, and leaving the course at 5.30 p.m. lhe ; 0 nominations and acceptances ore the largest yet received by the Club. Mr. C. J. Bennett’s satisfactory handicapping being responsible for. almost every ' owner accepting. Great interest is being taken in the Ladies’ Bracelet. The two handsome bracelets which are given as first and second prizes for the race * are now on view in the window of Mr. • • W. Miller- A pleasing feature of the meeting will be the presentation of the bracelet to the winner immediately after the race by Mr..J. A.' Caesar, the president of the- club. The club have - effected great improvements to til© course and'grounds since last meeting. - The course has been railed in, and a ; small bird-cage is now. being, erected. ' Nearly every local racehorse in training will he engaged at the meeting, and an;■ : excellent day’s sport is - assured. The; catering will be in the hands of.
