DISTRICT RABBIT BOARD.
THE PRESENT POSITION.
On the question of the constitution of the proposed Rabbit Board for tlie East Coast district, His Worship the Mayor recently forwarded the following telegram to. the Hon. T, Mackenzie: “Am sorry to worry you re Rabbit Board, while so bqsy with Parliament, but farmers most anxious to have Board set pp early as possible, and are very anxious constitution of Board is gazetted before holidays. Would be glad if you would instruct this to be attended to.” His Woi-ship yesterday received the following leply from the Minister: “Your .telegram re Rabbit Board receiyed. The position is as follows: An officer has been appointed, and is now working on a list of stock owneis that is required in connection with the election of the Board. When this list is completed it has to be handed to the Magistrate. After that the fact has to be advertised in newspapers, and the Magistrate lias to set a day apart to hear objections,' after which the election will take place. You will find the procedure set out in the Rabbit Nuisances Act, 1908, part 2, section 40.’
