He was. last seen on Christmas Eve. It is understood that: he had been. losmg in mining speculations. : INQUEST AT CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 27. At the inquesfl on Mary McLoughhn, otherwise Portelli, evidence was given by the police to the effect that deceased was a well-known bad character with 48 convictions against her. Medical evidence was that a post mortem examination showed that death was caused by heart .failure.
