King Albert made his State entry into Brussels yesterday, and was accorded a great reception in the streets. His Majesty took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution in the Chamber of Deputies. Socialists made attempts to raise a demonstration against the monarchy, but their cries Avere droAvned in cheers.

The King’s speech paid a tribute to King Leopold’s work in Africa, and added: “In the Congo the Belgian nation Avishes to see adopted a- policy of humanity and progress.
