AN INTERESTING INCIDENT

He was informed that it would be so isolated from the rest of the defences that it could be easily cut off and taken, and its guns turned against Sydney. Lord Kitchener is said to have replied: “If an enemy could land and take the fort, he could do so if there is no fort, land guns, and turn them on Sydney.” THE FIELD MARSHAL LEAVES SYDNEY.
