THE MISSING WARATAH.
AN EXHAUSTIVE SEARCH ARRANGED. United Press Association— Copyright. (Received, January 10, 11.35 p.m.) AIELBOURNE, Jan. 10. The citizens’ committee has accepted the offer of the steamer AVakefield to search for the AVaratali. She will leave Durban at- the end of January and exhaustively search the Marion, Crozet and Kerguelen Islands and between Kerguelen Island and the Australian coast. For the search of the islands she will be paid £3OOO, and for a month’s cruise on the coast east of Kergueleun a further £IBSO. The committee has also the option of extending the search for another month at a price to be fixed. An .admiralty officer accompanies the vessel and acts as representative of the committee. It is estimated that the cruise will cost £SOO more than the committee has in hand. Relatives in England of the Waratah’s passengers have guaranteed £2,000 towards the outlay.
