THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF RULES.

TPer Press .Association. 7 DUNEDIN, Jan. 10. The appointment of Messrs Mason, Nixon and Fache to represent New Zealand at the proposed conference of the New South Wales. Queensland and New Zealand Rugby Unions for the purpose of discussing the question *of amendment in the rules of the game has caused ,a great deal of dissatisfaction locally, as it is contended they are averse to any amendment in tlie rules. It is considered that as Otago and Auckland were the prime movers in the matter of altering the rules they should have representatives at the conference. It is possible' fchat-a special meeting of the Otago Rugby Union Committee will be held to discuss the situation.
