The Thursday competition will be commenced again to-day, when Te Ran and Alhambra continue their match at Victoria Domain. At a meeting of the Otago Cricket Association to-night the question of whether Otago will challenge Auckland in connection with the Plunket Shield competition was brought up for consideration. It was decided to challenge Auckland, provided a fully representative team could bo sent. It was also decided to recommend that the (match be played on, February IS, 19, and 20. The suggestion of the W-ellington 'Association to play a match there was considered impracticable,. as the players could noji spare the time. It was resolved that the chairman be authorised to wire to the Council advising that the Otago Association was not prepared to join other Associations in providing for the Australian, team’s visit unless the pooling system was brought into operation.
