The U.S.S. Co.’s Mokoia arrives from South this morning, leaving later for Auckland, where she connects with the Malieno for Sydney. The Tuatea .goes out .at 6 a.m. and at 10 a.m. The following have booked passages for Auckland: —Mr. and Mrs. Dickson and 3 children; Misses Ford, Every, Burnside, L. Griffi*, Cox, and Sheehan; Mesdames Robinson, W. B. Mackie: Messrs J.. Blyth, Goosman, Badden, Guthrie, and McLachin; Master Ford. Messrs Richardson and Co.’s Weka arrived from Napier yesterday morning, bringing- timber, cement, and general cargo. The Weka returned in the evening. Messrs Richardson and Co.’s Ruru arrives to-day from Napier. The U.S.S. Co.’s Tarawera returns from Auckland to-morrow afternoon, leaving for South during the evening. The Tuatea goes out on arrival and at 5 p.m. The U.S.S. Co.’s Flora is due from Napier to-morrow morning. She leaves again at 9 a.m. for the Coast bays as far as Port Awanui, and loads 2000 bales of wool back to Gisborne for transhipment to the Star of Canada. The Flora is expected to return about next Thursday, and after delivering the wool proceeds to Picton to load chaff for Coast ports and Auckland. The auxiliary schooner Fairburn returns to-morrow from Tologa and T’okomaru Bays, bringing a cargo of wool On Monday she is expected to leave for Napier, and from there goes to Porongahau to load for Napier. From the latter port the Fairburn proceeds to Tokomaru Bay, and brings wool back to Gisborne. She is expected to make a ten days’ trip. The New Zealand Shipping Co.’s chartered steamer Swanley is due from Auckland on Wednesday. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s Waiwera is due from South to-morrow, and loads about 2000 bales of wool, 200 casks tallow and pelts, and 15,000 carcases frozen meat. The Tyser liner Star of Canada is due on Monday. Yesterday the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ new lighter Matuku (late Aramolio) was being loaded with wool for transhipment to the Waiwera. The Union Steam Ship Company’s training ship Dartford is still at Newcastle as a consequence of the coalminers’ strike. For some time a Belgian training ship and the White Star Line’s training ship Mersey were also at Newcastle with the Dartford, and the boys from the two British ships attended service at the cathedral at the invitation of the bishop. The Dartford boys are having plenty of jiractice in swimming and boating, and they receive daily instruction from the captain and chief officer. To make their sojourn in Newcastle more pleasant, the company have thoughtfully provided them with a piano, which is nightly being subjected to treatment that testifies keen appreciation.
