A POLICE RAID IX WELLINGTON. rPmt Truss Association.! WELLINGTON, Jan. 14. A somewhat sensational raid was made on two Chinese houses in Haloing Street to-night. A new ruse was adopted by the police to detect the alleged offenders, a posse of police driving through the street in a cab to avoid the Chinese scouts, then suddenly making a dash for two houses which had been marked. Wong Lee and Jim Yung were arrested and charged with being occupiers of -premises used as gamng houses. They were admitted to bail cf £IOO each. Nine Europeans and two Chinese found on the premises were arrested and charged with being found in the house. They wore admitted to bail or £5 each. The police seized o -larg-" lot of pakapoo tickets.
