The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’ summary and forecast: 4lie barometer has fallen everywhere durino- the (past 36 (hours, with increasing hiunklitv and cloudiness. Ram m to-dav in most parts southward o! New * Plymouth and Napier, and is also threatening elsewhere. lue present indications are for a further tall in the barometric pressure, and a continuance cf cloudy and unsettled weather. Rain is probable generally, with rivers Hooded on the west coast. f-Ye-bening northerly winds are probable everywhere. The barometer may continue low and unsteady until I’l'idav and afterwards rise steadily.
