POVERTY BAY CLUB.

Four more races, the conclusion of the third round for the Grieve medals, were rowed off last evening under favorable conditions. Again some excellent finishes were witnessed, one race being an exceptionally close one, the winners gaining victory by the narrow margin of three feet. The results wei*e as follows: W. Ball and P. Stubbs (18secs) heat G Whitfield and N. Ingram (18secs). — This was one of the best of the evening, both crews getting away well together. Whitfield and Ingram had a lead of half a length to the bridge, where Hall and Stubbs quickened up, and gradually forging (ahead, won by half a length. L. Nicolas and 0. Hansen (12secs) beat P. Fi&hbaek and P. Neilson (13sec). —This was an easy win for the former crew. C. Winter and W. Neill (scr) beat J. O’Neill and L. Ensor (13sec). —Won by a length after & good race. C. Clark and H. Williams (4sec) beat R. Wilkinson and A. Payne (13secs). — This proved a very good race, Clark and Williams just getting home by three feet. The semi-finals will he rowed this evening, when C. Winter and W. Neill meets L. Nicolas and O. Hansen (12sec) and W. Hall and P. Stubbs (18sec) will meet C. Clark .and H. Williams (4sec). The final will take place to-morrow evening. '. ■ ■ ... Advice has been received from Wairoa that .the Poverty Bay Club’s repre. eentative ten-stone crew, T. McConnell (stroke), J. Parker, E. Whitfield and M. Sceats (bow) have won the Maiden Fours very easily at the Wairoa regatta. The racing was very heavy, and' the crew did exceedingly well under the circumstances.
