Reid, in the Town Hall. Sir G. H. Reid declared ’that all Australia needed was representation in England of the marvellously rich and marvellously emjpty country. AN EARTH TREMOR. There was a distinct earth tremor at Brewarrina, no damage being done. TRAGEDY AT NEW BUR WOOD. After quarrelling at New Bunwood, a- man named Naylor shot a woman named Fawkes, and then shot himself. Naylor is dead, hut Fawkes’ condition is not- serious. PAPANUI DOCKED FOR REPAIRS. MELBOURNE, Jan. 21. The steamer ,Papanui has been decked. The plates along both sides for a distance of 250 feet are broken or badly damaged. The repairs will occupy two months, and it is estimated will cost .between £20,000 and. £30,000. LORD KITCHENER AT ADELAIDE. ADELAIDE, Jan. 21. A great gathering accorded Lord Kitchener a flattering reception on his arrival. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT. The State Parliament .will he dissolved at the end of January.
