WATER FAST RECEDING

United I’iikhh Association —Copyhigiit SYDNEY, Jan. 21. Railway communication has been almost restored in the flooded districts. The water is fast receding in the higher country, but the flood is just commencing at Walgett, where it is hoped the precautions taken will minimise the loss of .property. FURTHER RAINS PREDICTED. Flood waters are expected in the Darling river in heavy volume. Water is coming down partly from Queensland. Further rains are predicted in the flooded areas. The Walgett Council is constructing an embankment round the town.
