WANGANUI CALEDONIAN SPORTS. [Per Press Association.'! WANGANUI, Jan. 23. The Wanganui Caledonian Society were favored with glorious weather for the twenty-seventh annual sports meeting. The "attendance was a record, t-ne takings amounting to over £l5O, in addition to which each member, of whom there are now 400, is entitled to four tickets. The Highland events were more prominent than usual. F. Finlayson carried off the points prize for piping, and J. McKeclinie did likewise for dancing. R. Niven won the junior dancing points prize. McFadgen, McDowell/and Sutherland tied in tossing the caber. McDowell won throwing tlie hammer, and McFadgen won putting the shat. Carling won Cumberland style wrestling. Local men won the cycling and pedestrian events.
