TPeu Press Association.! NEW PLYDIOUTH,'■ Jan. 24. The. adjourned annual meeting of the Taranaki Petroleum Co. to-day was largely attended. For the two vacancies on the directorate, Dlessrsi Ben% and E. Levin were elected. At the extraordinary general meeting to elect five directors in dace of those who voluntarily retired and offered them selves for re-election (with tlie exeption of Dr. Knight, of Wellington), the following •were elected: Messrs Carter* Bellringei, and Rov (New Plymouth), Craig (Auckland), Little (New Plymouth). The ■first four were re-elected, aud 1 the last named was nominated by them. tlie two “opposition” were defeated. The manager’s report on the wells, read at the meeting, was very satisfactory, showing that deeper boring is being prosecuted with improving prospects. Oil is being got at all three wells &t which work is proceeding.
