The» following is the Rev. D. C. Rates’ summary and forecast: Cloudy a:ad muggy weather has prevailed. Rain has fallen on the "West Coast and in the extreme south of the South island. Westerly winds have prevailed, strong about Foveaux and Cook Straits, hut moderate elsewhere. Present indications are for a short rise in barometric pressure in the south,- to be followed soon by a decided fall. Rain 3,-i probable generally, and freshening westerly winds.
