Walgett is now a tiny island in animmense sea of water: As far as tlie eye can reach there is nothing but water, which is creeping- at a snail-like jpace on the town. So slow is the action that some hope it will not overflow the town. The outskirts of Walgett are already under water. Several families have- removed tlieir belongings to places of' greater safety. [Walgett is a towm of'about 1000 inhabitants and is situated 476 miles to the North-West of Sydney.]'
