Giving evidence in the charge against; Peter Bowling for taking part in a' strike meeting at Bulli, Mr Hughessaid the people- to blame for the strike were the proprietors,' who deliberately incited it, and Bowling fell into the trap. Witness had. not sufficient knowledge to say that the owners generally wanted a strike, -but he believed those .with sufficient influence to affect trade generally desired it, or were perfectly reckless whether there- was a strike or not.
