GAS COMPANIES.
AUCKLAND GAS COMPANY. [Peu Pitr.HS Association.] AUCKLAND, Jan. 27. The annual report of the Auckland Gas Company shows the net profits for the year to be £44,700. The directors recommend a dividend of 9s on fully paid up shares which, added to the dividend paid in July, amounts to £34,108, and leaves a surplus on the business year of £10,491. WELLINGTON GAS COMPANY. WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. The Gas Company’s report show s a slight increase in consumption over last year The profit and loss account to December 31, 1909, shows: For the manufacture and distribution of fas, repairs etc., £62,341; written off plant, '£1716; dividend paid August, 1909, £7047; profit and loss balance £22,640; total, £95,745; by balance December 31st, 1908, £18,368; less dividend paid August Ist, 1909, £6332 — £12,036; sales of gas, products, and fittings, £83,709. No further call will he necessary during the present year: An interim dividend is now recommended.
