The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’ summary and forecast: Variable a-ad moderate to strong winds have prevailed, with warm and cloudy weather in the north, and showery on the <jasc coast of the South Island. A low •pressure area is developing in the north .in advance of an anticyclonic adva.ic-.-'ug from the south. Present indications are for a southerly gale, with (heavy rain, in most parts of the country, the rear and southern portion of ;fhV low pressure uniting with the ,-vHith-easterly winds of the oncoming •high pressure system.
