Only two races for Mr. Reg. Willcinsin’s medals were rowed off last evening Again some excellent finishes were witnessed, the. races, if anything, being closer than those of the preceding evening. J. Nicolas and J. O’iNeill (4sec) beat W. Neill and L, Nicolas .’(7seo). —This was a splendid race, Neill and L. Nico•olas having the advantage of a length’s lead to the bridge, through which both crews raced level to the Tuatea’s berth, where J. Nicolas and O’Neill pulled ahead, and won by about six inches.

[Per Press Association.] • CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 3. The date of the championship sculling race has been fixed for Saturday, April 2nd. R. Arnst, interviewed, stated that he has just received a let-K-r from Mri Guy Niekalls, the pro-

moter of the Zambesi, .match, stating that £3OO had been deposited with the Standard Bank at Livingstone, South Africa, for his (Arnst’s) training expenses, to be used as soon as he starts training for that event, and alsoi describing the- course as a most suitable one. It is about five miles above the A 7 ictoria Falls, and the river only runs at half a mile an hour. The race is to be over at 3 p.m., and half-a-mile or the course is down stream.

HAGNEY CHALLENGES AVHELCH

Hagney has challenged AVhelch to row a match after the fixture with Arust at Akaroa, £25 expenses to be allowed. If TVheleh rows at Sydney Hagney will allow £SO, win or lose.
