AN INSURGENT DEFEAT

United Press Association— Copyright LONDON, Feb. 6.

Desultory fighting occurred at Nicaragua. A large body of insurgents AA'ere ambushed near Libertad and suffered heavily. They fled to the mountains. One hundred AA'ere killed at Santo Tomas, and many AA'ere captured. British blue-jackets Avere landed at GrevtoAAUi, and assisted in extinguishing flames caused by the insurgents and the gunboats’ shells.
