A SUICIDE

A. telegram from Maungatawhiri reports the suicide by shooting of a man named J. C. Scott.
KILLED ON THE RAILWAY
HAMILTON, Feb. 8
Another shocking fatality occurred at Frankton Junction at 6 o’clock last evening, when William McPyke, shunter, aged 27, single, met his death through shunting. Ho was riding on the cowcatcher, when apparently his foot slipped. He fell on the front rails, the engine passed over him, and severed both logs. He died in the hospital four hours later.
DEATH FROM A HORSE’S KICK
31 ASTER TON, Feb. 8. The body of a well-known Maori farmer, Tehu'ki, was found dead near Masterton. ITo was riding a half-brok-en stallion, which apparentlv threw him and kicked him on the tihest.
