HOSPITAL SATURDAY.
TO-DAY’S UNDERTAKING
“Hospital Saturday”— the phrase is annually heard in. ail big cities, but in Gisborne the inaugural Hospital Saturday collection takes p ace to-day . The necessity of a good district hos pital is fully realised by all lnGisbojii, so there is not the slightest doubt that the collectors, hearing the official Reel Cross, will meet with unqualified success to-day. . . • There are 39 lady collectors taking ■pari in the campaign, and the morning collectors are to meet at the committee rooms, in Mr. H. M. Porter s office, at 9 a.m. They will then commence their work from different vantage points. It was originally decided to give a badge to all who donated •2s 6d and over, but this plan has been discarded, and subscription cards win be issued to everyone donating os, and a card for every similar amount, so that those willing to give more vll not lie restricted. It is to be hoped that the people of Gisborne will make a bountiful response to the appeals oi the ladies who have undertaken the task of collecting. ..
