John Minton Pauli was before the Court this morning, charged with shooting with intent to murder. The police asked for a remand for a week. Accused’s counsel did not object, but applied for bail, which was refused. Pauli is about 19 years of age. He was employed bv a local firm oi grain merchants as junior clerk. The affair has created a profound sensation, as accused is well-known locally.
