ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A YOUNG WOMAN DROWNED.

A voung woman, Lily Nieliolls. age&-\ 23. was drowned last night at TTpokongaro. A party of four went Tip the river in a rowing boat, when it capsized at the ferry, ana deceased was drowned. The body has not yet been recovered'. The body of the young woman, the victim of* the unfortunate drowning fatality last night, was discovered this morning close to the shore where the boat was beached after the accident. She was clinging to the boat when ittouched laud, and when the rescue party went to assist her ashore she had disappeared. The night -being dark, they failed to rescue her.
THE NEW BRIGHTON DROWNING CASE. CHRISTCHURCH. Feb. 11. The inquest on Robert Lee. whose body was recovered yesterday, threw no fresh light on the. New Brighton drowning case. One witness stated that nonswimmers frequently got- out of their depth on the beach, and trusted the breakers to bring them in.
