(Received February 13, 5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 13
Lord Kitchener, aboard H.M.S. Encounter, departed for New Zealand last night. A large gathering bade him farewell. He expresed his gratification at, the hospitality of Australians, and hoped that his recommendations would be found acceptable and suitable and that they would do something towards improvements in the defences of Australia. He presented representatives of the senior cadet forces of the various States with colors worked by Lady Dudley.
