Tlie case brought by the' Income. Tax Department against Bowron Bros, and G. J. Smith, M.L.C.. will be heard at the Magistrate’s Court, Christchurch, on March Ist. There are three informations, charging the firm with (1) having made a false return in writing in regard to income; (2) having delivered a false return; (3) having made a false return affecting the firm’s liability by which the firm evaded full taxation. * The charge is said to have been laid by W. M- Tyers, Wellington, inspector, under tlio Income Tax Assessment Act.
